The Soma Story

The name, Soma Lab Fitness, is deeply rooted in the Ancient Greek word sōma (σῶμα) meaning body in its most complete and holistic sense. To us, soma represents the body living in its wholeness, where physical health, mental clarity, and emotional well-being converge. But we’re not just about wellness; we’re about the journey to get there. That’s where the lab comes in—a place of work, discovery, and transformation. In our studio, the lab is where you experiment, challenge yourself, and push your body to new limits. We believe that the process of growth and self-improvement is as important as the destination.


Providing our clients with a comprehensive approach to address individual fitness levels and goals allows you to focus on mental clarity and community connections. Through our yoga classes, we equip you with skills to focus the mind and connect to your body. Our goal is to help YOU achieve your fitness goals. We believe when you’re feeling confident in your body it helps your mind, which leaves you happier and more empowered!

We are creating an experience and a lifestyle more than anything, surrounded by an amazing community and effective workouts. We provide three modalities backed by studies and research that shows how to improve an individual's physical and mental state.  Also happy to be the studio to bring Lagree back to the New Albany community and be the pioneer for the first Versaclimber studio.

Meet the Founders

Olivia Mendoza, Co-Founder + COO

Olivia is a Columbus, Ohio native with a passion for fitness that stems from an active upbringing. From competitive sports like volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse to working out with my health-conscious father, she learned early on the importance of caring for your body. After attending Ohio State University and diving into a career in real estate, her love for physical fitness remained a constant. It wasn't until a friend introduced her to Lagree that she found a workout that truly resonated with her. The transformative experience inspired Olivia to bring this innovative fitness concept to the community, leading to the creation of Soma Lab Fitness. Olivia believes in the power of exercise to heal both the mind and body.

Quintin Graves, Co-Founder + Fitness Director

Quintin began his Lagree journey in 2016, first as a participant and quickly fell in love. He would later become certified the following year, 2017 and begin teaching. Quintin was attracted to the functionality of the work, first and later discovered the added benefits of a better body and mind. Since then he has worked at numerous studios and now has the opportunity to open his own. He would come to build his relationship with the Versaclimber machine while traveling, having the opportunity to experience a cardio-based, total-body, low-impact workout. While continuing to be an avid yogi, to explore his body awareness and mental elasticity.  He hopes with his valuable knowledge, he will create a formative experience for each client.
